2021 XMAS CONVENTION - DENMARK

The Church of Pentecost, Denmark, celebrated the 2021 Christmas Convention at the various assemblies under the theme: "Good News for All". (Luke 2:10)
The first convention took place in Odense from 10th - 12th December 2021. Apostle Gordon Opoku Boakye, together with his wife, Mrs. Stella Opoku Boakye, and delegates from the Copenhagen assembly graced the event to commemorate the birth of our Saviour.
The assemblies in Copenhagen, i.e. PIWC and Central together with the Korsør Assembly continued the Convention from 17th to 19th December 2021 in Copenhagen. Speakers for the occasion included Elder Victor Osei Asamoah and Elder Badu Asante.
The message that brought the curtains to a close for the event on Sunday was given by the national head, Aps. Gordon Opoku Boakye. Reading from Luke 2:1-14 with supporting scriptures from John 1:1-5, Galatians 4:4-7, Isaiah 9:6, Jeremiah 32:27, and Isaiah 43:1-3, he said the birth of Christ entails both divine and human stories. Continuing further, he said Jesus, who was not under the law came under the law to set free those who were under the law. Expounding on why the angel appeared to the shepherds, he explained that in the Jewish culture and tradition, the shepherds were the least respected in Israel. They were therefore not allowed in the city but because Jesus wanted to prove that He loves all regardless of their social status through divine providence, He caused them to be the first to hear the Good News which granted them access to the city.
Apostle Gordon assured the congregation that since the birth of Christ brings good news, the places that one was first not welcomed, the doors will now be opened for access to those places.
He said that just as the angel told the shepherds not to be afraid we also need not be afraid in our circumstances because the birth of the Saviour brings good news.
In conclusion, he charged the congregation to repent from their sins since it is the only requirement to enjoy the blessings in the Good News.
A sponsored Christmas dinner was held on Saturday after the convention. Members made merry, ate, and drank in honor of the Christ child.
The last of the 2021 Convention was held by the nursery Assembly in Århus under the same theme on 26th December 2021. The National Head and his wife together with the National Deacon, Elder Dr. Kwabena Titi Ofei, and his wife graced the occasion.
